Making a Stained Glass Window Look Really Beautiful in the Sunlight
There are many different ways that you can decorate your home. One of the more interesting ways would be with stained glass windows. Now many of us associate stained glass windows as being in churches. There are however homes and commercial buildings where stained glass windows are used. The uses of these windows in the different locations provide similar and dissimilar uses.
In the church the stained glass windows are to allow sunlight into the church in a manner that will reflect the colored panels and illuminate the picture that is shown on the windows. The usual picture that you will find on these stained glass windows is that of biblical scenes. The most common scene will be that of Jesus, his mother Mary and a choir of heavenly angles.
This type of scene is quite different from the ones in homes and residences. At these locations that scenes are pictorial in nature. To make a stained glass window look really beautiful in the sunlight numerous techniques which have been long been used are employed. These techniques today are worked both by skilled artisans and by the use of machinery.
As you look at these two distinct styles of stained glass windows you will notice the casual style and the spiritual style which is used. In both of these windows style the focus of the window is to draw the eye of the beholder. You will find a few large examples of this type of window. These places will include sculptures and public houses. You will mainly find pubs – or bars as they are called in England – use these windows.
The use of stained glass windows in places like this is to promote a sense of warmth and privacy. To help offset these windows, a type of glass known as cathedral glass is also used. Today you can see different types of stained glass windows being used in homes. These windows will not be that large as they will not create an atmosphere of airiness. Instead the windows which are selected for their colored glass beauty are long and narrow.
The most common place to find residential stained glass windows is near the front door. Some homes will have these stained glass windows being used as a fan light. There are many companies who will be able to make the type of stained glass window that you desire and they will send an expert to install these windows for you as well.
