Wrought Iron Bed Frames Run the Gambit
Wrought iron is an extremely sturdy type of material that can be used to create stunning curly cue or wavy patterns. When used in candle sconces or wall decoration this material can create stunning artistic displays that leave one almost breathless at their beauty. When used in bed frames wrought iron can run the gambit from basic functionality to artistic elegance.
The simplest wrought iron bed frames consist of little more than four long bars joined together to form a rectangle with three, four, or five, cross bars running across the center to offer additional support. These frames usually require both a mattress and a box springs. While these frames are functional and incredibly sturdy they add little to a bedrooms décor. Since the bed is the centerpiece of most bedrooms you will have to rely solely on your choice of bedding to add a little character and ambiance to your room.
On the other hand, wrought iron is also used to create some of the most classic and intricate bed frames on the market today. It is really not unusual to see king sized four poster beds with high head and foot boards in various curves and peaks with intricate scroll work that makes the bed look like something straight out of "House Beautiful." This type of wrought iron bed frame certainly adds ambiance and grace to a bedroom and when matched with the right bedding can draw the eye and diminish every other piece of furniture in the room.
One of the great things about wrought iron bed frames is that they come in all sizes; twin, double, queen, and king as well as bunk and loft beds so they can be used in children's rooms where their sturdiness is much appreciated to Mom and dad's room where they may need to bear considerable weight on those nights the entire family gathers on the bed to watch movies together.
They can also match almost any décor be it rustic, country, modern, Victorian, or simply chic. Daybeds using this material for frames can fit as well into a country décor as they can a modern one depending on the style you choose. There are also some wonderful canopy style frames made of this material for both a girl's room or the master bedroom.
Many people choose these bed frames over those made of wood because they can look just as stylish and fit as many decorating choices as can wood but, usually cost less which can be extremely important to those people on a limited budget. Other people choose a wooden head or foot board to give them the look they desire but prefer a wrong iron bed frame itself because of it's sturdiness. Combining the two seems to allow them the strength the need and the look they want rolled up into one nice neat package.
Whether wrought iron is used as the entire bed fed frame or in combination with wood or composite material can add strength and beauty to any bed and help create the type of look you want your bedroom to have. It is one of the many choices of bed frame materials available today.
